So I just finished the first issue of the new Edward Scissorhands comic book mini-series and I have some mixed feelings on it. It takes place many years after the events of the film. As I'm sure you already know, at the end of the film we see Winona Ryder's character Kim as an elderly.   In EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest) is a down-on-her-luck Avon representative shopping around her small, sunny neighborhood for prospective skewered resources force her to pay a visit to the local haunted house, she meets Edward (Johnny Depp), a recluse living in the attic who shyly appears in a zany 80s punk bouffant and leather getup, with 4/5.

Edward's hair was flattened down, like in the design book that the inventor had illustrated but still hadn't received his body skin, or, as the inventor had joked once, birthday suit. That joke, as usual, had been lost on Edward and had to be told that, when a baby is born, it doesn't come out fully clothed. Edward Scissorhands Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands creates a whole new world for viewers to enjoy: the classic, perfect world of suburbia with each family living the American dream versus the unknown world of an uncommonly gentle man who is nearly human.

Edward Scissorhands: (Danny Elfman) The times for Tim Burton would never be better than in the early 's, with the immense success of Batman proving his financial viability and a sequel on the way to continue building upon that reputation. It would be the highly personal, satirical tragedies of Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas that would earn the director his most. Edward Scissorhands resonates with angsty teens because it was dreamt up by one.“Edward Scissorhands () began as a cry from the heart, a drawing from (Burton’s) teenage years that expressed the inner torment he felt at being unable to communicate with those around him, especially his family,” wrote Mark Salisbury in the book Burton on : Trey Taylor.

Edward Scissorhands book. Read reviews from world’s largest community for readers. Edward Scissorhands is a comedy-drama fantasy film directed by Ti 4/5(29). All 10 issues of the critically acclaimed series by writer Kate Leth and artist Drew Rausch are collected in this deluxe, oversized hardcover.

Once adored by the Boggs family and the neighborhood that welcomed his arrival, Edward Scissorhands' intervening years of reclusion have not been kind to him/5. I watched the Edward Scissorhands movie years ago, and I thought it was so charming, macabre and dark that I watched it several times.

I always liked Edward, and thought he was such an innocent, tragic character. When I started this comic book, I was surprised to find this series actually takes place many years after the movie/5.

Bookmark In castle just outside a sleepy suburban town, a brilliant inventor created Edward Scissorhands but left him tragically unfinished. Two generations of exile have left Edward digging through abandoned experiments, but once he wakes up a creature left buried, he discovers he isn't the only one missing a vital piece.

Make sure this is what you intended. Edward Scissorhands Vol 1 is the sequel to the movie. In the movie Kim and Edward become friends and at the end he is made to hide away in his castle for a crime he didn't commit. In this graphic novel Kim is dead and her granddaughter Meg wants to find out about the whole "murder" thing/5.

Edward Scissorhands is remarkable for so many reasons. The characters are great. The colourful houses of suburbia are impressive.

The fact that everyone in the town grows to adore Depp's Edward is very touching. Johnny Depp captures the lost soul that is Edward Scissorhands. He is a joy/5(K). Unlike the other 2 volumes of Edward Scissorhands that are paperback, this one is in a hardback cover.

All 10 of the comics are included in this one as well as concept art and some notes as the very beginning and end. As to what you can expect from the comic is where the movie left off, Edward embarks on adventure(s) after the boggs family /5(6).

In Edward Scissorhands, the inventor creates Edward, who audiences will first view as a monster - just like in Frankenstein, and the similarities continue as we discover by watching the film, Edward isn’t a monster, just like the “monster” in Frankenstein, but the actions and interactions of the other characters turn them into monsters - both end up committing murder.

And in both stories, the Author: Scott Barnard. 'Edward Scissorhands Volume 2: Whole Again' by Kate Leth and art by Drew Rausch continues the adventure of Megs and Edward. Megs is the grandaughter of Kim from the movie. After the events of the last volume, the townspeople have come together to help spruce up Edward's castle.

New light fixtures and furniture and a new tv with a kevlar plated /5(9). 'Edward Scissorhands Volume 1: Parts Unknown' by Kate Leth with art by Drew Rausch is a pretty great sequel to the movie. The story picks up with the final scenes from the movie and moves ahead two generations.

Kim (the character played by Wynona Ryder) has died after a long life, but her daughter and grandaughter still live nearby. Edward /5(21). Edward Scissorhands Series 2 primary works • 2 total works The cult-classic film from auteur Tim Burton, Edward Scissorhands ends with the heroine of the story, an aged Kim being asked by her granddaughter, “How do you know he’s still alive?” to which she answers, “I don’t know.

Edward Scissorhands is a very personal story with an autobiographic tone, although it’s presented as fantasy. Burton has spoken often of the problems in his childhood. In fact, he has always defined himself as a loner and even “weird”.

Edward has all the essential ingredients for today's standard body, with the exception of a pair of hands. For what is initially thought to be a temporary period, he is fitted with long, scissor-like extremities that, while able to trim a mean hedge, are hardly conducive to day-to-day life.
